Castel Sant Angelo You can find this beautiful building close by the Vatican State. As we stopped by from our way back from Vatican City, we didn't go inside. Spanish steps This is a lovely and popular place, at walking distance from the Trevi Fountain, at Piazza Spagna. If you want the steps for yourself for the perfect photo opportunity, you will need to get there early because it gets crowded during the day. Piazza Venezia Piazza Venezia is a lovely place in the heart of Rome. It also has some of the prettiest fountains, so it really is worth a visit! Pantheon This building used to be a Roman temple and it is so impressive to look at. Sadly we didn't manage to enter it this time, but this means we will have to return to Rome to visit it one day! So if you can, go take a look inside the Pantheon. Vatican city State - St. Peter's Basilica, Sistine Chapel and Vatican musea Don't miss the change to visit an other state while visiting Rome! Vatican city is an independent city-state, enclosed by the city of Rome. The official name is Vatican City Sate, and it is ruled by the Pope. Did you know it is the smallest independent state in the world? It is definitely worth a visit! St. Peter's Basilica at St. Peter's Square Trastevere
The Trevi Fountain The Colosseum and Forum Romanum Where to stay? There are tons of hotels, B&B's and Airbnb's in Rome. We stayed in the neighborhood of the Colosseum and we loved it. With the Colosseum at walking distance, you can admire this incredible building at any moment you'd like. You can easily make an evening walk around the Colosseum. There are also a lot of places to eat and where you can enjoy some gelato. You can also find a lot of places to stay close by the Trevi Fountain. This means you can go to the Trevi Fountain in the morning and have it all for yourself for the perfect photo opportunity. You do need to consider that it always is very busy arround the Trevi Fountain, during the day and even at night. Where and what to eat?
